Do you find that the same Salt Lake City SEO problems keep repeating themselves in your life? Perhaps these problems are in the area of finance, career or relationships. If this does ring a bell then allow me to suggest that you are looking for the solutions to these problems in the wrong place. You do this for three reasons, (1) you like your comfort zone, (2) you fear the unknown and (3) your mental narrative. Allow me to explain.

First, you look for solutions to your problems in the wrong place because you like your comfort zone. This makes sense. The things and places you are comfortable with are non threatening, familiar and easy. It is no wonder that you prefer these things. However, if the same problems keep repeating themselves in your life this is a pretty good indicator that you are not going to find solutions to these problems inside of your comfort zone.

Second, you look for solutions to your problems in the wrong place because you fear the unknown. This goes hand in hand with preferring your comfort zone. You like your comfort zone because it is known. You do not want to leave your comfort zone because it is unknown. Moreover, this fear is sufficiently strong to keep you searching for solutions within your comfort zone even though you never find the solutions there.

Finally, the third reason you look for solutions in the wrong place because of your mental narrative. This is the story that you tell yourself about yourself over and over. You then come to believe this story and it feels true to you. For example, you might tell yourself that you are not a creative person. You tell yourself this internally over and over and it becomes true for you. As a consequence you avoid being creative. As a consequence of that you never gain proficiency with being creative. You can probably see how this mental narrative has a self fulfilling prophesy quality to it.

When I was a child I experienced more than my share of bullying and ridicule. Perhaps I was a little more sensitive to this type of thing than other people. My solution to this problem was to recede into the background and not stick out in any way. That way I could avoid being ridiculed. This was the comfort zone that I had created for myself. But as you might imagine I did not find many solutions to many problems within this comfort zone. But it was better than the alternative of facing my fear of the unknown and allowing myself to stick out and expose myself to ridicule. The whole time the mental narrative that ran through my head was “I’m not good enough” this is what the ridicule had taught me.

This is a pretty depressing scenario but there is some good news to this. I have come to realize that it is possible to break free of this scenario by changing my ¬†mental narrative. By changing my mental narrative from “I’m not good enough” to “I am good enough” I found that I became able to have the courage to venture forth from my comfort zone, face my fear of the unknown and begin to solve the problems that kept repeating themselves in my life.
